Welcome
Ian
Simpson
A warm welcome to the official website of Scottish motorcycle racer Ian ‘Simmo’ Simpson. Simmo is a five-time British champion and triple Isle of Man TT winner.
He also won two Scottish championships and four European classis racing titles, taking his overall championship tally to twelve. He also won two Ulster Grands Prix and five North West 200 races in his fifteen-year career.

He is most famous for pulling off a stunning double in 1994 when he won the British Superbike Championship on a Crighton Norton and the British Supersport Championship on a Yamaha FZR600.
He remains the last man to have won the two biggest British championships in the same year and the last man to have won the British Superbike Championship on a British motorcycle.

In 1998 – Honda’s 50th anniversary year – he rode a factory RC45 to victory in both the Formula 1 TT and the Senior TT.
‘Simmo’ still parades his former RC45 race bike at various events and races a Yamaha TZ350 in classic events. He also instructs on Jamie Whitham’s track days and runs his own bike touring company ‘Adventure Moto Scotland.’

His autobiography ‘Forever Playboy’ is available exclusively through this website and at the many motorcycling events which Simmo attends each year (see drop-down menu for regularly updated list of events where you can meet Ian, buy a book, and get it personally signed).
Thank you for visiting – we hope to see you again soon!
